January 4, 2007 - Manitowoc Crane Group, Sturgeon Bay, Wis., has agreed to purchase the Shuttlelift Carrydeck line of industrial cranes from Marine Travelift Inc. As a result of this acquisition, MCG hopes to improve its position in the industrial crane market by offering a more complete product range. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

January 10, 2007 - The State of Washington recently issued new safety regulations covering the use of aerial work platforms. These new rules, effective January 1, 2007, appeared to mirror the ANSI and Federal OSHA standards for both boom and scissor lifts.
