April 23, 2008 - A tower crane task force, at the request of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA), is drafting a fact sheet to assist tower crane owners when speaking with the media. In the aftermath of recent accidents involving tower cranes in New York and Florida , many crane owners were asked to comment to the press or had to field questions from the general public. Upland, Calif., April 2008 - A crane operator is facing felony manslaughter charges from a December 2006 incident that killed a worker and two motorists. The San Bernardino County District Attorney's Specialized Prosecution Unit filed charges against the 33-year-old operator last week for involuntary manslaughter and negligent killing of a co-worker.
