For the fifth year, Lift and Access is holding the Leadership in Lifting Equipment and Aerial Platforms (LLEAP) Awards, which are intended to recognize products, accessories, or design concepts that are considered innovative or have advanced the state of the lifting equipment industry. To qualify for consideration, products must have been introduced or delivered to the North American market between April 1, 2008, and March 31, 2009.

St. Marys, Ohio, May 2009 – A 57-year-old man was severely injured when a scissor lift pinned him to the ceiling. According to the fire chief, the man was working for sprinkler company and was using the scissor lift to elevate himself to the ceiling when he became pinned between a bar near the ceiling and the safety rail on the machine.
