Altec to Unveil New Boom Truck at ICUE

Altec will introduce its new AC23-95B boom truck at ICUEE. |
August 25, 2009 – Altec, Birmingham, Ala., will be unveiling the AC23-95B boom truck at the 2009 International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE). The new crane will have a 23.5-ton maximum capacity, 95-foot boom, and an optional 44-foot two-piece jib, which measures 26 feet when retracted. The maximum working radius is 90 feet and the maximum tip height is 148 when equipped with the optional two-piece jib.

Sizing Up Fall Protection

Whether an aerial work platform operator is a man or woman, working at heights exposes all operators to fall hazards, and protection is needed when the hazard cannot be avoided. Nashville, Tenn., August 2009 – A 24-year-old worker was electrocuted when the telehandler he was operating came into contact with an energized power line. He was lifting debris into a dumpster when the accident occurred. More than 1,000 people were affected by power outages.
