Deadline Next Week for People of Distinction
 

Lift and Access magazine will again recognize outstanding leadership among the people of the industry with its annual People of Distinction recognition program. Individuals, departments and teams who have made a difference through their philanthropy, creativity, research, innovation, or hard work can be nominated for the award.
Entries must be submitted by April 24.

April 14, 2009 – The North American scissor lift industry’s newest contender, Aichi, debuted the SV1930C prototype at the Lift and Access Showcase. The unit was shipped from Japan to Chandler, Ariz., specifically for the event.

The 135-ton GMK 5135 joins Grove’s five-axle line. It replaces the GMK 5120B, one of Grove’s most popular AT models.

April 14, 2009 – Last fall, Manitowoc unveiled the GMK 5135, the newest member of its five-axle Grove all-terrain (AT) crane lines, during an open house held at the Manitowoc, Wis., company’s Wilhelmshaven, Germany, facility. Equipped with a five-section telescopic boom, the crane was displayed in a demonstration event on the company’s test pad, one of several new introductions shown off to customers and dealers. Next week, the crane will also be shared with attendees at Intermat 2009 in Paris, France.

Brantford, Ontario, March 2009 – A 63-year-old forklift operator was killed when part of a retaining wall pinned him against his machine. He was pronounced dead at the accident, which took place at a waste and recycling facility.
