Fall Protection Company Launches New Brand, Products at Safety Show

Pure Safety Group (PSG), which recently acquired four safety equipment companies, is launching as the PSG brand, a family of the combined company brands and harmonized product lines at the 2018 National Safety Congress (NSC) trade show in Houston. 

In the last 10 months, PSG acquired Web Devices, Guardian Fall Protection, Checkmate, and Ty-Flot to become the largest dedicated provider of height safety equipment and services in the world.

JLG Offers 3-Foot Platform for Boom Lifts

JLG Industries can now equip all its engine-powered boom lifts with a 3-ft. platform.

The 30-in. by 36-in. platform is available as an aftermarket purchase or on new whole goods orders.

“These new smaller platforms help JLG meet the growing market demand for compact platforms to complete work in tight spaces,” said Bill Dovey, senior product manager, booms, JLG Industries Inc. “Smaller platforms allow workers to access work areas where traditional platforms wouldn’t fit.”

New JLG X1000AJ Compact Crawler Boom Now Available

JLG Industries Inc. announced that the new X1000AJ Compact Crawler Boom (CCB) is now available, bringing the line into the 100-ft. height class. 

This model was previewed in February 2018 at The Rental Show in New Orleans.

Haulotte Partners With IPAF as First Manufacturer to Become Sustaining Member

Haulotte has signed a historic agreement with the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) allowing it to become one of the association’s first-ever sustaining members, which is a  new membership category for organizations that wish to emphasize commitment to the ongoing aim of promoting the safe and effective use of powered access worldwide.

The signing of new agreement took place at IPAF’s Europlatform 2018 conference at the Europa Hotel, Belfast, Northern Ireland, on Oct. 11.

Bobcat Partnership Explores Advanced AI for Equipment

Doosan Bobcat North America partnered with SafeAI to explore how advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies could be incorporated into Bobcat equipment, including its telehandlers.

Through this pilot program, SafeAI plans to demonstrate how the latest AI technologies, Deep Neural Networks (DNN) and Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL), can be used to perceive complex dynamic environments around equipment and provide automated control.

Time Manufacturing/Versalift Acquire Bridge Inspection Company Aspen Aerials

Time Manufacturing/Versalift acquired Aspen Aerials, a bridge inspection equipment and services company, in a deal that will expand its products and leverage its own growing global market access.

Now known as “Aspen Aerials, a Time Manufacturing Company,” the Duluth, Minnesota-based manufacturer will continue to offer high-reaching, stable, and durable specialty equipment used to inspect the safety and integrity of bridges, as it has for more than 30 years. Their products allow technicians to examine bridges from above, alongside, or below. 

JLG, SkyTrak Now Offer Telehandler Non-Marking Tires

JLG Industries introduced non-marking tires for JLG and SkyTrak telehandlers, designed specifically to protect sensitive surfaces from unwanted markings.

The new tires are available as air- or foam-filled and come with a center bar for better wear performance on abrasive surfaces. A non-directional tread means fewer assembly combinations and reduces carrying costs.

JLG Adds Bolt-On Fall Arrest System for Boom Lifts

JLG Industries Inc. is offering a new bolt-on system to help operators move safely outside the platform of its boom lifts.

This feature allows an occupant to exit the platform at height and step onto adjacent structures while being tied off to an approved lanyard anchor point on the platform. The Bolt-On Fall Arrest System consists of two large steel brackets securing a 6-ft. cable with a ring that can move from one end of the cable to the other. Attaching the lanyard to the ring improves maneuverability and allows the operator to perform tasks outside of the platform.
