California Aerial Equipment Rental Companies Merge to Become RESCO

Two California aerial equipment rental companies merged to form Rental Equipment Service Company (RESCO).

This move makes RESCO now one of the largest independently owned, full-service dealers in the state, which will allow both companies to better leverage their size and resources on behalf of their customers.

Under the merger, West Coast Equipment LLC and D&D Lift Inc., which are both authorized dealers of JLG, Gradall, Skytrak, and Princeton machines, will retain their individual name, logo, and brand identity.

West Coast Equipment, located in Corona, California, was founded by the current vice president of sales Dave Robidoux in 1984. He partnered with Shaun Flanagan, the founder/owner of Horizon High Reach, and Jeff Davis, also from Horizon High Reach, in 2006.

Likewise, family-owned dealer D&D Lift, located in Tracy, California, was founded in 1981 by Dave Priolo Sr., his wife Lorraine, and son Dave Jr.

Flanagan, West Coast Equipment president, said this move will help their customers.

“We decided to merge with D&D because we want to expand our footprint throughout the state while remaining competitive,” Flanagan said. “Our customers will benefit from the merger by having more options with the same great service and depth of knowledge that they’ve grown accustomed to.”

George Barberick, CEO and vice president of sales for D&D Lift Inc., agrees.

“This is a great opportunity for us and our customers because we’ll be able to supply them in a more timely and efficient manner,” Barberick said. “Where we used to be competitors, now we can pool the best of our resources and expertise. It’s a win-win-win situation.”
