Manitou has rolled out the MT 625, a versatile new compact telehandler designed for the rental and construction industries.

The 5,500-lb.-capacity telehandler made its debut at the American Rental Association’s The Rental Show in late February, where Manitou representatives said the machine is drawing great interest both from rental houses and contractors.

In addition to picking, carrying, and placing loads, the versatile MT 625 can also dig and tow.

It can pick 5,500 lbs. at 4-ft. forward reach, raise 4,409 lbs. to its 19'2" maximum lifting height, or pick 1,650 lbs. at its 11'1" maximum forward reach.

Maximum breakout force for digging is 7,704 lb.-ft., and the drawbar pull for towing is 7,981 lb.-ft.

Built to work in tight spaces, the MT 625 measures 16’6” long, including forks, 5’11” wide, and 6’4” tall. Its compact size, four-wheel steering, and 7’6” wheelbase give it an inside turning radius of just 2’6” and an outside turning radius of 15’5”, including 3’11” forks. Turning radius without forks is just 10’10”. The machine weighs 10,582 lbs., including forks.

Even though the MT 625 is compact, its cab is a roomy 2’7” wide, laid out for comfort and good ergonomics, and equipped with a new all-in-one joystick control that’s designed to sit comfortably in the operator’s right hand and give him or her fingertip control of all the boom and attachment operations.

An open cab comes standard, with a fully enclosed cab optional.

The steering system lets the operator select two-wheel, four-wheel, or crab mode to maximize maneuverability in any situation.

The hydrostatic transmission delivers full-time four-wheel drive, 15.5-mph maximum travel speed, and lets the MT 625 climb a 42% (23°) grade.

The 74-hp Kubota four-cylinder diesel engine meets Tier 4 emission requirements with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and delivers 195 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,600 rpm.

The MT 625 is available for ordering.
