Edmonton, Alberta's 4-Way Equipment Rentals, a CERF Incorporated company, has taken delivery of the first two MEC 6092RT scissor lifts produced by MEC Aerial Work Platforms, Kerman, Calif.

Receipt of the shipment crowns the 6092RT as the largest scissor lift produced in North America – surpassing the MEC 5492RT.

The 6092RT was designed to give construction contractors another option at the 60-ft. platform height (66-ft. working height) range – which has until now been serviced primarily by boom lifts.

The concept was driven with the goal of providing a scissor lift product that would best utilize a company’s time, capital, and personnel.

The machine is powered by a Kubota turbo diesel engine and provides a lifting capacity of 1,200 lbs. (540kg) up to a platform height of 60 ft. (18.2m).

The machine's work space is equally impressive. Its dual roll-out decks provide 24'9" x 6'3" (7.54m x 1.9m) of workspace. The lifting capacity and available work area offer a distinct advantage over competing boom products in comparable applications.

Auto-leveling outriggers that can correct for slope are standard on the 6092RT, and the lift and drive controls are fully proportional from the control box on the platform.  Also standard on the machine is strong four-wheel drive that provides up to 40% gradability through the use of two-speed planetary drive wheel motors.

Marc Mandin, COO of 4-Way, says these large aerial lifts are sure to be a big hit with 4-Way’s customers. “As construction projects get larger and more complex, so do the lift needs of our customers. We’re very pleased to be able to offer our customers with a platform height of 60 feet with a 150 square feet of work space.”
