Snorkel Unveils Two Higher-Capacity Electric Slab Scissor Lifts

Snorkel has expanded its family of electric slab scissors by adding two models.

The new models expand the brand new family of four electric slab scissor lifts Snorkel launched at The Rental Show in February 2015.

The new additions, the models S3215E and S3220E, join the S3219E, S3226E, S4726E, and S4732E in Snorkels product line of electrically powered, hydraulically driven slab scissors.

The S3215E delivers 15-ft. platform height and can lift up to 600 lbs.

The S3220E delivers 26-ft. platform height and can lift up to 900 lbs.

These models are particularly popular in Europe, where there is a focus on higher lifting capacities.

Both the S3215E and the S3220E share a 32-in.-wide chassis, that is also common with the S3219E and S3226E.

The lifts feature Snorkel’s innovative twin-door service trays that provide "inside-out" access to all key components, even when the lift is in a confined space.

The new lifts also share the attributes of the rest of the family, including the fixed upper control box, saloon-style entry gates as standard, dual-shear scissor stack design with up-sized pins, telescopic extension deck, up-sized kingpins, and gravity-actuated pothole protection.

The new models are currently in production at Snorkel’s U.S. manufacturing facility in Elwood, Kan.

They will be officially launched at Bauma in April 2016.

The first order for the new lifts was received from Buchtmann Arbeitsbühnen GmbH at Platformers’ Days 2015.

Company owner Willi Buchtmann placed the order with Bernhard Kahn of Ahern Deutschland, for 10 of the new S3220E electric slab scissor lifts, along with five of the S3219E.
