Xtreme, Snorkel Name New Chief Manufacturing Officer

HENDERSON, Nev. - Xtreme Manufacturing and Snorkel promoted John Gill to the newly created role of chief manufacturing officer (CMO).

Gill will provide direction at an executive level overseeing all manufacturing operations. He will report directly to Xtreme Manufacturing & Snorkel CEO Matthew Elvin.

Previously, Gill served as director of manufacturing operations based at the Snorkel facility in the U.K., after joining the business in November 2016. 

Manitex Adds Two Business Managers to North American Sales Team

GEORGETOWN, Texas - Manitex International Inc. expanded its sales team to include two regional business managers for its articulating crane division.

Sam Welch and Chris Ruiz were appointed to the Manitex team, expanding coverage across the United States and Canada.

Welch has been appointed to the western region of the United States. He has been in the crane industry since 2014 with Bigge Crane & Rigging and Peak Crane & Equipment selling cranes to customers domestically and internationally.

Runnion Equipment Service Manager to Retire

LYONS, Ill. –Runnion Equipment Company announced that after 30 years, its service manager,  Guy Tanney, will retire.

Tanney joined Runnion in 1987 as a mechanic specializing in auto and truck bodywork. He was promoted to service manager in 1996 to oversee on-site and in-shop maintenance and repairs. In addition, he developed Runnion’s internal crane inspection guidelines and supervised technician hiring through the Runnion mentorship program.

New Case Construction Equipment Vice President to Oversee North America

RACINE, Wis. - Case Construction Equipment named Michel Marchand as the new vice president for North America, replacing Scott Harris, who has taken a similar role at Case IH.

Marchand previously served as the regional sales director for Canada, and he will now oversee all Case Construction operations in North America.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) has elected Rick Johnson, CEO of Charles Machine Works, and Bryan Rich, chairman and CEO of SmartEquip, to the AEM CE (construction equipment) Sector Board. 

The pair fills unexpired terms.

AEM officers and directors provide strategic direction and guidance on behalf of all member companies for Association action in areas that include public policy; market data;exhibitions; technical, safety, and regulatory issues; and education/training.

United Rentals Names New President

United Rentals Inc. announced that Matthew Flannery was appointed president of the company by its board of directors, in addition to his responsibilities as chief operating officer. 

Michael Kneeland, who became president and chief executive officer of United Rentals in 2008, will continue to lead the company as its CEO.
