JLG’s New BIM Library Designed to Ease Rental Equipment Planning

MCCONNELLSBURG, Pa. — JLG Industries Inc. launched a BIM library on its website.

BIM (building information modelling) is an intelligent 3D model-based process that gives architecture and construction professionals the insight and tools to more efficiently plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and infrastructure.

For rental companies, a major advantage of BIM is that, at a very early stage, the equipment required at a jobsite can be identified and its transportation planned. This will allow the right product is delivered at the right time to complete the work at hand.

German aerial work platform manufacturer Ruthmann is expanding its presence in North America.

The company has established its own subsidiary Ruthmann North America L.P. and plans to continue to develop its presence in the North American market along with its two long-standing sales and service partners, Time Manufacturing and ReachMaster Inc.

Genie Names VP of Product Management and Business Systems

Genie has named Mike Davis as vice president of product management and Terex business systems (TBS).

Davis is responsible for global product management of the Genie brand, and also has global responsibility for the company’s TBS activities across operations and administration.

He will transition to his new role and relocate to Redmond, Wash., in the coming months.

Davis sees two distinct elements to his new role.
