IPAF: MEWP Rental Market Continuing Global Growth

The global Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) rental market is booming, with the sector once again outpacing wider construction and sustained recovery in places such as Spain, France, and Brazil that suffered during economic downturns, according to the latest market analysis from the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF).

Genie Names VP of Product Management and Business Systems

Genie has named Mike Davis as vice president of product management and Terex business systems (TBS).

Davis is responsible for global product management of the Genie brand, and also has global responsibility for the company’s TBS activities across operations and administration.

He will transition to his new role and relocate to Redmond, Wash., in the coming months.

Davis sees two distinct elements to his new role.

Serious Labs, an Edmonton-based developer of virtual reality (VR) solutions for training and operations of heavy equipment including cranes and aerial boom lifts, launched its new Aerial Virtual Reality Training Simulator at the IPAF Summit/IAPAs.

The simulator combines Serious Labs’ new scissor lift modules with its boom lift modules to provide a comprehensive aerial operator training solution for the rental industry.
