Acme Hires VP for Great Lakes Region | Construction News

Acme Lift Co. has hired industry veteran Scott Hoglander as senior vice president of its Great Lakes operations.

Acme Lift is one of the world’s largest wholesale rental companies that specializes in the biggest boom lifts, telehandlers, and portable air compressors.

“Scott brings nearly 25 years of valuable rental industry experience to his new position at Acme Lift,” said Woody Weld, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer. “In the past, he has also been involved, on a much smaller scale, in the re-rental segment of the rental business. I believe that Acme Lift’s enormous fleet of nearly
new U.S.-manufactured aerial lifts combined with our always expanding financial and operational capabilities will allow Scott to bring his customers better service and value than he could ever have supplied previously. I am very pleased that he has joined the Acme Lift team.”

Hoglander came to Acme Lift from ReEquip Solutions, where he was East region sales manager responsible for re-renting big boom lifts. Before that, he was a district manager and district sales manager for BlueLine Equipment, formerly Volvo Rents for four years.

“Scott was a great asset for us at the former Volvo Rents,” said Mike Crouch, Acme Lift’s president and chief operations officer who worked at Volvo Rents before joining Acme Lift. “He is a true rental veteran and well respected in the industry. He’s going to be a tremendous asset to the team that we continue to build.”

Hoglander was sales manager for GAR Equipment Corp. from 2008 to 2012 and special accounts manager for Hertz Equipment Corp. from 2005 to 2008. He also worked as a sales representative for United Rentals from 1999 to 2005, Access Rentals Inc. from 1998 to 1999, and American Service Co. from 1993 to 1998. Access Rentals and American Service were bought by United Rentals.

“I am looking forward to working with the leader in the re-rental segment of the industry,” Hoglander said. ”Getting the opportunity to grow with a company that has so many industry veterans who have a common goal is an exciting opportunity.”

Acme Lift believes it has the largest selection of big boom lifts reaching up to 185 ft., the latest 8,000- to 40,000-lb. telehandlers, and large portable air compressors for re-rent.
