One of the highlights of JCB’s display at the American Rental Association’s recent Rental Show was the new 525-60 Hi-Viz compact telehandler, which made its debut at the show.

The dynamic little lifter delivers up to 5,500 lbs. of capacity and up to 20 ft. of lifting height in a package that’s just 5’10” wide and 6’3” tall. Its short wheelbase and three steering modes—two-wheel front, four-wheel, and crab—let it maneuver in the tightest spaces, and its two-speed hydrostatic transmission lets it travel at up to 16 mph. JCB’s SRS “Smooth Ride System” minimizes load bounce and improves control.

The operator’s cab is comfortable, with a single easy-to-reach joystick control and large windows providing clear vision all around and overhead. An open cab comes standard; the unit displayed at The Rental Show had an optional enclosed cab. With either cab, the low boom pivot and low-profile side-mounted engine give the operator excellent vision out the right side. The enclosed cab features a sturdy, lockable door, whose top half can be swung open to aid ventilation or communication.

The machine can accept a variety of skid-steer attachments for maximum versatility of application.

The JCB 525-60 Hi-Viz is powered by a new 74-hp, Tier 4 Final, JCB diesel by Kohler engine that uses a diesel oxidation catalyst after-treatment that never needs servicing.

JCB will also display the new 525-60 Hi-Viz at the ConExpo trade show in Las Vegas from March 4-8.
