The tyre handling specialist Just Easy Tools has made a 2-ton-capacity version of its Easy Gripper. Named the Easy Gripper 2400 T2, the new model is based on same design as the 1-ton Gripper, which already moves tires in production lines, distribution centers, and service companies around the world.
3 point grip is safest
The core of Easy Grippers is the 3-point grip. Lars Jørgensen, CEO of Just Easy Tools, explains: “When squeezing a tire from two sides, all the existing solutions tend to deform the tires, making it harder, and thus also both more time consuming and dangerous, to push and pull them off the rim. With the 3-point grip, we keep the round shape.”
Another issue for many organizations are safety when moving and handling heavy tires. The three contact points and the special coating on the three arms allow much better control when moving, handling, or transporting a tire.
Narrow fenders not a problem
The Easy Grippers also solve another of the industry's main headaches: narrow fenders. With a super slim toparm, Easy Grippers can fit under the fender and handle tires with full control.
This is also a top priority for one of Just Easy Tools’ users, SuperDæk, and they are excited about the recent development in the new tire handling tool: “It used to be all manual handling, and many people were worn down working with the heavy tires and wheels. Today, more and more advanced tools are entering the industry, which is a great advantage,” Karsten Thorø Lynggård, from Superdæk points out.
Superdæk has been the first user to test and use the new Easy Gripper 2400 T2.
High demand from OTR tire service providers
The 2-ton version seems to be filling a hole for the producer, Just Easy Tools. “We have been selling a number of 1-ton Easy Grippers. A lot of customers were enthusiastic about the design – but since operating in OTR segments, they were in need of a larger version also capable of handling popular tires such as 27.00R49 and 33.25RXX,” Lars Jørgensen, owner and CEO, explains.
The 2-ton Easy Gripper is designed for use with forklifts, front loaders, and even truck cranes. As the test phase has concluded successfully, the next step for the innovative Danish company will be to test it in underground mines.
