Liebherr Names Schad as Midwest Rep | Construction News

Liebherr-Werk Nenzing, which manufactures crawler lift cranes, duty-cycle cranes, and foundation machines, has named crane and lifting industry veteran Ron Schad as its sales representative for all equipment in the midwestern United States.

Schad's territory includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Schad is a well-known crane industry executive whose career with lifting equipment has spanned nearly 30 years.

Schad had most recently served for 14 years as CEO and president of Essex Rental Corporation, from which he resigned last April. During his tenure, Schad developed Essex into a respected leader in the crane rental business.

Before joining Essex, Schad spent nearly 15 years at Manitowoc Cranes, where he started as an engineer in the service department and rose to lead the division as executive vice-president.

Schad's appointment was announced by Gernot Schranz, president of Liebherr Nenzing USA. "I am pleased to have our cranes and foundation machines represented by someone with such an established background in the industry," he said. "In addition, Schad’s ties to the both construction and rental customers make him a perfect choice for Liebherr’s sales efforts in the Midwest region.”

Schad is based in Manitowoc, Wis., and can be reached at ron.schad@liebherr.com.

The new position gives Schad the chance to stay in the industry he loves and to do what he enjoys most: helping equipment users find the perfect machine for their needs.

“During my time at Essex, I came to respect the outstanding value of the equipment produced by Liebherr Nenzing," said Schad. "Their cranes and foundation machines combine superior performance and unsurpassed quality with world-renowned aftermarket support." I am excited to share with others in the industry, my positive experience with Liebherr.”
