SolidBoss Worldwide, South Haven, Mich., recently was named the OEM wheel and tire supplier for a new material handler manufactured by Exodus Machines. Production began on May 15, and finished models are expected to roll off the assembly line in late July.
SolidBoss also assembles and sells AirBoss segmented tires for use on aerial work platforms with black and non-marking compound, and it distributes SolidBoss aperture hole tires for use on telehandlers and rough-terrain forklifts. According to the company, a considerable amount of SolidBoss expanded wheel solid tires are used with rough-terrain forklifts used in Amish communities where pneumatic tires are not used.
Exodus Machines chose SolidBoss expanded wheel tires and wheels for its new machines in March. The decision was driven by the company’s requirement for extensive wheel and tire engineering expertise. The highly-customized application requires the wheel strength needed to
hold the machine in the most severe conditions, while maintaining tire flexibility, tear-resistance, and endurance, despite the harsh environments in which the Exodus machines will operate.
“We are convinced that the SolidBoss tires will provide us with optimum performance. And we have real confidence in their ‘over-the-top’ dedication to customer service,” said Adam Bennis, vice president of engineering for Exodus.
