NCCER Releases Tower Crane Operator
March 9, 2010 —
The
National Center for Construction Education and
Research
(NCCER), Gainesville, Fla., has announced the
2010 release of the Contren® Learning Series Tower Crane Operator curriculum.
NCCER worked with industry subject-matter experts from across the country to
introduce relevant material into the new book. Tower Crane Operator offers
technical hints and tips from the crane industry, presenting real-life scenarios
similar to those one might encounter on the job site.
The content covers a
variety of topics, including introduction to the trade, principles of tower
cranes, safety, rigging, load charts, and tower crane operations. Additional
features include a list of key trade terms, module trade term quizzes, and a
color insert.
“I am extremely
excited in anticipation of the upcoming release of the NCCER curriculum for
tower crane operation,” said Mike Eggenberger, crane safety manager, Bay Ltd., A Berry Co. “Having first-hand
knowledge of the commitment NCCER has put forth in existing curriculum, I am
sure Tower Crane Operations will be an industry-leading training curriculum,
dedicated to safe tower crane operation.”
NCCER develops the
Contren Learning Series crane curriculum in partnership with leading textbook
publisher, Pearson. Students successfully completing Tower Crane Operator
through an NCCER accredited training sponsor will earn industry-recognized
credentials through NCCER's National Registry.
