For rough-terrain forklift manufacturers, another EPA Tier standard is in effect in the quest for clean-burning diesel engines.


In the May 2012 issue of Lift and Access, editor Mike Larson pointed out that the non-road diesel engine industry would be dealing with the EPA’s Tier 4 Interim (Tier 4i) regulations kicking in that year. These new standards would apply to engines having ratings from 75 to 174 hp.

Lift and Access magazine is seeking entries for its 2013 Leadership in Lifting Equipment and Aerial Platforms (LLEAP) Awards competition, the seventh year of the award program. LLEAP judges will evaluate and honor innovative products that were introduced to the industry between April 1, 2011, and Feb. 28, 2013. Products considered must be new, innovative, and beneficial to the state of the lifting equipment and access industry.

Star Rentals, Seattle, Wash., has committed to purchasing the first truckloads of MEC’s all-new Crossover 4069 ERT, a battery-powered rough-terrain scissor lift with 40-ft. platform height and 800-lb. capacity.

 

MEC will officially roll out the new model at the American Rental Association’s The Rental Show in February.

Las Vegas-based Xtreme Manufacturing’s largest capacity telehandler will be on-display tomorrow, June 6 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Ahern Rentals location in La Mirada, Calif.
