As I settle in at the keyboard during the waning days of 2011 to write the editor’s column for Lift and Access’ first edition of 2012, I am thinking about topics likely to affect the industry in the new year.
One of the biggest and most surprising popped up just last Friday, Dec. 16. United Rentals, Greenwich, Conn., and RSC Rentals, Scottsdale, Ariz., announced that United is buying RSC for $4.2 billion.
