Pettibone Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Extendo Telehandler

Pettibone/Traverse Lift is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Pettibone Model 88 Extendo, which the company claims is the first telescopic handler ever produced.

Developed in the late 1960s, the first Model 88 Extendo unit was completed and delivered in early 1970, as documented by the original bill of sale from March 24, 1970.

Up Equip to Host Demo Tour in U.S.

Up Equip Easy Lift 87-48AJ

Montreal-based Up Equip, a North American distributor of the Easy Lift compact lifts, announced it will be holding a demo roadshow leading up to The ARA Show in Orlando, Florida.

The company will make seven stops in the U.S. to provide demo sessions of the Easy Lift 70-36AJ and 87-48AJ models and the Hoeflon C6 mini-crane.

ARA Insurance CEO to Retire

ARA Insurance announced Phil Kelling, president and CEO, plans to retire effective Feb. 29, 2020, and his replacement will be current ARA Insurance CFO John Kennedy.

Under the leadership of Kelling, who has been with ARA Insurance since 1997, the agency grew from four independent agents to a premier insurance program with a network of insurance agents who support the needs of ARA members nationwide.

ReachMaster Expands Sales Team

ReachMaster added Tony Trainer as regional sales manager, as well as four new sales representatives. 

Trainer, who previously worked as a key account manager at Teupen North America for the past five years, will handle accounts in the tree care sector, as well as overall sales in the Southeast. Trainer is located in Charlotte, North Carolina.

JLG Adds Sheet Material Telehandler Attachment

JLG Industries introduced a new sheet material handler to its line of telehandler attachments.

The coupler-mounted attachment can lift up to 3,000 lbs. with a 72-in. maximum fork spread, allowing for heavy and wide materials to be delivered at height.

“JLG continues to expand the versatility of its telehandlers with this new sheet material handler attachment,” said John Boehme, JLG senior product manager. “Operators can confidently lift and place a variety of materials, ensuring they are delivered conveniently and efficiently to the desired location.”

Hy-Brid Lifts is introducing its all-new PS-1930, a 19-ft. scissor lift that is ANSI A92.20 compliant. Featuring a redesigned scissor stack and low step-in height, it can fit through a standard doorway without fold-down rails, and it weighs less than 2,000 lbs.
