Snorkel Introduces Two Telehandlers, Narrow Rough Terrain Scissor Lift at World of Concrete 2019

As it kicks off its 60th anniversary celebration this year, Snorkel introduced two new telehandlers and a narrow rough terrain scissor lift  at World of Concrete 2019 in Las Vegas.

The two new telehandler models offer larger capacity: the Snorkel SR9244 and SR1054.  The SR9244 offers a lift capacity of 9,260 lbs., a maximum lift height of 44’4”, and a forward reach of 31’2”, and the larger SR1054 delivers a lift capacity of 10,000 lbs., a maximum lift height of 53’9”, and a forward reach of 41’4”.

New Terex Utilities Leaders to Expand Technical Services, Support

Terex Utilities announced two organizational changes, promoting Richard Gunderman to vice president of parts and services and naming Nick Cammisa to the newly created position of director of service sales.

Gunderman will report to Clint Weber, vice president and general manager for Terex Utilities. Cammisa will report to Gunderman.

Weaver JCB will sell and service new and used JCB equipment from locations at 905 Nelson’s Parkway in Wakarusa, Indiana and 52345 Indiana State Route 933, South Bend, Indiana.

Genie Updates Training Courses to Meet New ANSI A92 Standards

Genie updated its operator training programs to meet the requirements in the new ANSI A92 standards, which will take effect Dec. 10, 2019.

The programs include:

  • Genie Lift Pro Online Operator Training Program
  • Genie Lift Pro Train the Trainer courses
  • Genie Lift Pro classroom-based operator training courses

The courses will comply with the new ANSI A92.22 standards for Safe Use and ANSI A92.24 standards for Training.

Report: Wearable Technology Important in Monitoring Worker Fatigue on Jobsite

The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) Foundation released a fatigue research report that shows the value of wearable technology on the jobsite to monitor the fatigue levels of workers in order to reduce injuries and increase productivity.

The three-year study was led by Dr. Lora Cavuoto at the University at Buffalo and Dr. Fadel Megahed at the Farmer School of Business at Miami University of Ohio. The project also involved researchers from Auburn University and the University of Dayton.

United Rentals to Make Leadership Changes

United Rentals Inc., the world’s largest equipment rental company, announced its board of directors has appointed Matthew Flannery, current president and chief operating officer, to become its new CEO, while retaining the role as president.

Additionally, the board has appointed Michael Kneeland, the current CEO, to become non-executive chairman. Bobby Griffin, a 10-year member of the board and chairman of the Strategy Committee, will become lead independent director.

ARA Introduces Strategic Plan for Equipment Rental Industry

The American Rental Association (ARA) released a new industry-wide strategic plan that will drive program initiatives over the next three years to better support the success of its members and advance the equipment rental industry.

This is the first revision to ARA’s strategic plan in more than a decade.

The ARA board of directors met for a two-day session led by a professional facilitator to discuss common issues within the industry in order to develop action plans.

The Roto50.35 S Plus features a newly engineered tilt cab with integrated controls, 96-ft. reach, maximum capacity of 10,900 lbs., 360° rotating turret, and a new, innovative safety system.
