Altec to Feature Tilt Cab and Crawler Tracks

Altec Industries, Birmingham, Ala., will show three cranes at ConExpo-Con/Agg in Las Vegas, Nev. Tilt cabs are now available as an option on all riding seat models from the company. When equipped, the operator can adjust the angle of the cab with hydraulic power. The new tilt cab will be shown on an AC38-127S, a 38-ton boom truck featuring a 127-foot boom.

Also new are track carrier designs for the company’s boom trucks. The AC38-127S will be shown mounted on crawler tracks—a configuration that offers users access to remote locations.

The third crane on display will be an AC23-95B, featuring out-and-down outriggers with short span, mid span and full span load charts. The 23-ton crane has a four-section, 95-foot boom. Outrigger controls are located at the crane control panel and at ground level to reduce the access/egress frequency required to set up the crane. Standard features found on these cranes include outrigger interlocks, winch drum rotation indicators, area protection in the LMI, and programmable LIM allowing 50 percent de-rating for personnel handling with pin-on platforms.
