Capital Safety Releases ExoFit NEX Arc Flash Harnesses

Red Wing, Minn.-based height safety and fall protection equipment provider Capital Safety has added the ExoFit NEX Arc Flash harnesses to its DBI-SALA ExoFit NEX product line.

Targeted for use in applications involving exposure to high-voltage electricity or hot work, such as welding, the harnesses incorporate an exterior made with Nomex, featuring a Kevlar core and thread that provides 7,000-pound strength. The ExoFit NEX Arc Flash harnesses, which feature flame-resistant webbing and non-conductive properties, are tested to perform in accordance with the recently updated ASTM F887-11 arc flash standard specification for personal climbing equipment as well as ANSI Z359.1 and CSA requirements.

The harnesses’ built-in arc flash-rated trauma straps provide an adjustable, continuous loop to minimize suspension trauma, and the integrated insulators behind exposed hardware prevent contact with the body for utility industry application use. The ExoFit NEX Arc Flash harnesses also incorporate non-conductive, lightweight, PVC-coated aluminum D-rings, as well as i-Safe technology, which allow them to be tracked for inventory and usage data.
