CHS Introduces Enhanced Cenex Premium Diesel

CHS Inc., St. Paul, Minn.,  has launch its enhanced Cenex-brand premium diesel fuels for the fleet and agriculture markets. Cenex Roadmaster XL and Ruby Fieldmaster premium diesel fuels were developed to meet the demands of existing engines, as well as new engine technologies designed for more stringent EPA emissions standards. The premium diesel fuels increase efficiency while optimizing engine performance and reducing downtime.

After significant evaluation of diesel engines used in fleet and agriculture environments, experts found a number of complications related to the typical No. 2 diesel fuel. New engines operate under higher temperatures and pressures that can literally cook the fuel and damage engine parts. Cenex Roadmaster XL and Ruby Fieldmaster fuels address these complications with a complete, high-quality additive package. The result is increased engine efficiencies with minimal downtime.

With specialized detergents, injection stabilizers, demulsifiers and corrosion inhibitors, the premium diesel fuels deliver numerous benefits compared to the standard No. 2 diesel fuel including:

  • Improved fuel efficiency by as much as 5 percent
  • Improved lubricity by 10 - 15 percent
  • Increased engine power by as much as 4.5 percent
  • Quicker, more reliable engine starts and improved cold-weather starts
  • Extended  lifecycle of costly injectors and fuel pumps
  • Reduction of downtime and repair costs

Cenex Roadmaster XL and Ruby Fieldmaster fuels are proven to extend the life of engines by preventing corrosion and buildup and for improved fuel efficiency, and increased power for pulling heavy loads.

According to Chad Pistulka, CHS product manager: “Cenex premium diesel fuels are formulated specifically for the demands of both existing and new engine technologies. The premium diesel fuels have not only been proven to deliver increased efficiencies, but they also extend the life of fuel injectors and protect fuel pumps from wear.” Dave Millar, fleet owner in Edgerton, Wis., said he has experienced an 8 to 10 percent increase in fuel economy since implementing the Cenex Roadmaster XL product in his fleet.
