Crane, Barge Sink in Canal | Daily Construction News

Marco Island, Fla., January 2013—A crane that was parked awaiting future use sank into a canal along with the barge it was sitting on. The cause of the sinking, which happened late at night, has not yet been determined. The owner reported that little diesel fuel was in the crane’s tank, that only a little hydraulic fuel had leaked, and all environmental containment requirements had been met. The owner has re-floated the crane and barge and is investigating the cause of the sinking. - www.marcoislandflorida.com
