Final SAF-T Conference Presentations Scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday

The 2010 SAF-T Conference webinar is in full swing this week with two important topics left to cover. Register today at www.saf-tconference.com to attend these free webinars, sponsored by Snorkel, Haulotte Group, IPAF, and Skyjack.

Log in today (Wednesday) at 3 p.m. EST to listen to Gary Riley of IPAF's presentation entitled "Understanding the Differences Between Training vs. Familiarization." Riley will provide a refresher on the ANSI A92 standards as they apply to training, as well as discuss any progress made on establishing standardized aerial work platform training.

Thursday will be the final SAF-T Conference webinar. At 3 p.m. EST, Ken Colonna, RSC, will present "Qualified Operators…Who are They?" This webinar explains that training isn't the only component of learning, and equipment owners and contractors who rent equipment must understand it is important to evaluate the competencies and capabilities of anyone that will be trained is as important as the level of training provided.

Conference recap

On Monday, Jeff Stachowiak, Sunbelt Rentals, discussed how to manage an accident if one occurs. Information provided included how companies should respond to an incident or accident, work with the media, and develop an accident investigation kit.

Tuesday, Mark Monson, Hanover Insurance Group, provided an overview on fall protection and responsibilities as interpreted under current ANSI standards, the differences between fall protection and fall arrest, and fall protection requirements.

Recorded presentations from Monday and Tuesday currently can be found on the SAF-T Conference website under the Agenda tab, while Wednesday's and Thursday's webinars are expected to be uploaded later this week.
