Hawaii to Accept CIC Certifications

The State of Hawaii has approved the crane operator’s certification program of the Crane Institute of America Certification (CIC).

In an announcement made last week, CIC reported that Hawaii’s Hoisting Machine Operator’s Advisory Board made a decision to accept CIC certification as equivalent to that of the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators.

“Though Hawaii approved CIC some months ago, the official letter just arrived while we were at CONEXPO,” said Debbie Dickinson, CIC executive director. “To the best of my knowledge, all states with their own license requirements, as well as Federal OSHA, recognize CIC certification & recertification of crane operators.”
