Highway Crash with Digger Derrick Kills Bus Driver, Injures Five Passengers | Construction News

The driver of a tour bus was killed and five passengers injured when the bus ran into the rear end of a digger derrick truck traveling on a highway in Tooele County, Utah.

Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) officials said the crane on the back of the digger derrick went through the windshield of the bus and killed the driver. Two passengers were flown to hospitals in critical condition. Three other passengers were taken to hospitals by ambulances.

Construction workers said the digger derrick truck was pulling into a median when the accident happened, and UHP officials said that the digger derrick truck slowed so quickly that the bus didn’t have time to slow down. The three workers in the digger derrick truck were not injured.   - www.fox13now.com
