Industrial Crane & Hoist Conference Date Set for March 22

Developed as an independent forum where crane users and suppliers debate the real-world dynamics of working with overhead crane and hoists, the Industrial Crane & Hoist Conference will be held in conjunction with ProMat 2011 on Tues., March 22 at McCormick Place in Chicago Ill. At ICHC, safety personnel, fleet and facility managers, and crane operators will gather information in order to enhance productivity and safety in their facilities. Topics up for discussion include industry regulations, safety training, equipment applications, and much more. ICHC is the must-attend event for all industries using overhead cranes and hoists.

As previously reported, the Industrial Crane and Hoist Conference will be co-located with ProMat 2011 on the second day of the biennial tradeshow. With registration opening at 7:30 a.m. and the first session slated for 8:30 a.m., plant facility managers, operators, and service technicians alike will learn about operator certification, crane management programs, rigging, and more throughout the day.

For example, Lyle Moran, the EHS training manager for Sikorsky Aircraft, Stratford, Conn., will present on the company's internal procedures, tool design specs, inspection, elements, and employee training for its Hoist, Crane, Lifting Device Programs in industrial environments. The session will depict how one aerospace company manages the requirements of a HCLD program and produces positive results.

Additionally, Joe Crews, president of Crews Crane Training International, High Point, N.C., will discuss a variety of topics related to overhead crane and hoist safety and inspections. This includes a daily operator checklist, standard hand signals, and the effects of angles on rated loads.
