Manitou’s M Series Now Tier 3 Compliant

Manitou North America, Waco, Texas, has announced that its versatile M Series 6,000-, 8,000-, and 10,000-pound capacity rough-terrain masted forklifts have begun Tier 3 production. Users still have the option of two- or four-wheel drive; torque convertor or hydrostatic transmission; open, semi or fully enclosed cabs; and many Manitou manufactured mast height choices. Perkins or Caterpillar 94-hp turbocharged engines now provide the motive power.

The M Series also provides the user the exclusive frame leveling option on a masted truck, allowing the operator to level out the truck and load before placing it onto the landing area. Another popular feature retained from the previous series is a cab that tilts forward to provide access for servicing and daily maintenance checks. The one-piece unitized mainframe with full fenders creates a durable forklift for tough jobsite conditions.

Other upgrades to the Tier 3 M Series include a dust proof/waterproof wiring harness, marine-style water resistant gauges and new work and road lights. The cab on the new M Series features a wider step, redesigned fenders and tanks making entry and exits from either side a breeze. The new raised cab floor is designed to make cleaning the truck easier. The overhead visibility has been increased by both lengthening the existing and adding more cutouts to the top of the overhead guard while still retaining FOPS certification. Another upgrade is a SAHR park brake system, eliminating all brake maintenance and making for a safer work environment.
