Manitou's New MLT 735 Telehandler Features New Cab, Other Upgrades

Waco, Texas-based Manitou North America has announced the addition of a new model to the Evolution Series of multi-purpose telehandler models. The MLT 735 replaces the previous MLT 634 and MLT 741 units. The 735 combines the features of its predecessors and incorporates many new additional features. These features include an EPA Tier 3 compliant engine, the new Evolution cab, paint, and decal scheme. Other value-added benefits include an improved light package, improvements to the air conditioning system and the addition of the new JSM joystick.

Perkins engines continue to be featured in the entire range of MLT products. The new Tier 3 engines incorporate advanced technologies like common rail fuel injection systems, and computer management, both designed to specifically reduce the amount of particulate emissions as set forth by EPA regulations. Additional benefits of the advanced Perkins technology are improved torque, quicker throttle response, quieter engine, improved fuel efficiency and B20 bio-diesel compatibility.

The load-sensing hydraulic system on the MLT 735 remains unchanged, providing infinitely progressive functions on all hydraulic functions. The new patented JSM (joystick switch and move) joystick mounted on the armrest is an ergonomic, multi-functional extension of the operators arm. It is equipped with proportional roller switches for boom extension/retraction and auxiliary hydraulics, and a rocker switch controlling the direction of travel. The JSM joystick allows the operator to control all truck functions with the right hand, leaving the left hand dedicated to steering, providing more precise control and convenience over the previous system.

All models are now equipped with new work lights and road lights. In addition, the MLT 735 Evolution will also include an external toolbox and a new decal scheme. The Evolution 735 retains Michelin tires but has upgraded to the 460/70-24 XMCL, which features increased tread life, reinforced lugs, greater traction and reduced ground compaction.

The machine also features an upgraded A/C system with a 12-percent increase in cooling performance and airflow.
