John Nofsinger, CEO of the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA), a Charlotte, N.C.-based non-profit trade association representing the U.S. material handling and logistics industry, will retire on Dec. 31, 2011. With more than 45 years of experience in the material handling and logistics industry, Nofsinger has served as CEO of MHIA since 1999. George Prest, MHIA’s COO, will succeed Nofsinger as CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2012.
Prior to joining MHIA in 1986, Nofsinger worked for 20 years at Republic Storage Systems and as a volunteer leader with MHIA, serving as vice president, board of directors and chairman of the Shelving Manufacturers Association.
Representing the material handling and logistics industry since 1945, MHIA sponsors trade events, including ProMat 2013 and MODEX 2012, to showcase products and services and create industry awareness.
