Mobile Crane Operator Certifications Approved in Pennsylvania

Two certification agencies recently announced that their mobile crane operator certification programs have been approved for obtaining Pennsylvania state licenses.

In November, Crane Institute Certification (CIC), Sanford, Fla., announced its approval to certify crane operators in Pennsylvania. Crane operators seeking a Pennsylvania license should be aware of important differences in the state regulations compared with Federal OSHA requirements. Applicants for Pennsylvania licenses will not be allowed to use calculators during testing and they must take a practical exam on each crane type for which they are seeking a license.

Today, the National Center for Construction Education and Research, Gainesville, Fla., announced it also has been approved as a certifying organization for the State of Pennsylvania. Individuals with NCCER Mobile Crane Operator Certification will be able to apply for crane operator licensure in the state.
