More Delays for Revised Crane and Derrick Standard

The release of OSHA's new safety standard for cranes and derricks in construction has been pushed back yet again, according to reports made during the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association's Governing Committee meeting held last week in Kansas City, Mo. The agency had previously said to look for the standard in October. Now insiders in attendance at the meeting speculate that the standard won't be released for public comment until sometime in 2008.
