At ConExpo, Manitou North America and Gehl Co. announced it has reorganized its business to better support its dealers and brand. Renaming the organization Manitou Group—Americas Region, the group is working hard to establish three distinct product brands with Gehl, Manitou and Mustang while retaining their past product offerings and leveraging their combined strengths. Part of the new Manitou Group is the improved solutions that are to be offered. Highlights include expanded financing options, extended warranty packages, expanded training, and guaranteed parts support.
Introduced at the show was the sleek, all-new ultra compact Manitou MLT625 telescopic handler. According to Serge Bouche, VP of sales and marketing, the unit is "made to accommodate tools." Although targeted at the agricultural market, this tool handler can be an effective tool in construction environments. Lead times for the new unit are now running about 60 days but stretching out every day.
