Operator Killed in Truck-Crane Tipover | Construction News

A crane operator died when the lattice-boom truck crane he was operating fell over onto its side while helping build an addition to a church in Maplewood, Minn. The operator was trapped in the cab by the accident and was removed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Maplewood police said that the crane’s outriggers were set but may have sunk into soft soil. Witnesses said the crane was lifting a pre-cast concrete beam when the accident happened.
