Perkins Engines Co. Ltd. has announced two key senior appointments. Tana Utley has been appointed Perkins president, replacing Gwenne Henricks, who has returned to the U.S. to take up the post of vice president and chief technology officer at Caterpillar’s Product Development & Global Technology Division.

Utley, who relocated to Peterborough, UK, to take up her new role effective Jan. 1, joins Perkins from Caterpillar’s Product Development & Global Technology Division, where she was vice president and chief technology officer.

Utley earned a BS in mechanical engineering from Bradley University and an MS in management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management. She is the recipient of the Suzanne Jenniches Upward Mobility Award from the Society of Women Engineers and an honorary Doctor of Technology degree from Loughborough University, UK.

In January, Utley was recognized in the U.S. as one of 122 women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their careers. The first Women in Manufacturing STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Production) Awards are part of an initiative to promote the role of women in the manufacturing industry.

Also joining Perkins on Feb. 1 is Paul Wroblewski, who succeeds Jim Berry as general manager for medium engines (3 to 7 liter product lines).

Wroblewski joins Perkins from Caterpillar’s Large Power Systems Division where he is currently general manager of the Mossville Engine Center. He will bring his extensive experience, knowledge of the global engine business and supply chain to his new role at Perkins, in addition to an acute focus on the customer.
