Public Must Register by Oct. 20 to Attend ASC A92 Committee Meeting| Construction News

Members of the public who want to attend the annual meeting of the ASC A92 committee that develops industry best-practice standards for aerial work platforms must register by next Monday, October 20, 2014.

The meeting will be held Oct. 26-29, 2014, at Harrah's Casino Hotel, Las Vegas, Nev.

The 2014 SAIA ASC A92 Aerial Platforms Annual Meeting is open to members of the public who have interest in the standards activities that establish consensus rules, guidelines, or characteristics for activities or their results in the aerial platforms industry.

Consensus (industry) standards are voluntarily used by manufactures, dealers, owners, users and operators of aerial platforms. The purpose of the standards is prevention of accidents and injuries, as well as establishing criteria for manufacturers.

The standards also aid the manufacturers, dealers, owners, users and operators of the platforms to understand their various responsibilities.

The standards affect everyone who manufactures, sells, rents, or uses aerial work platforms in the United States.

The Scaffold & Access Industry Association (SAIA) is the secretariat for the committee and is organizing the meeting.
