Skyjack Gives Sneak Peak of Upcoming Articulating Boom Lifts

Guelph, Ontario-based Skyjack reveals the first look of its upcoming new models the SJ 46AJ and SJ 51AJ articulating boom lifts. The new models are the latest in a series of new designs that continue to propel Skyjack toward becoming a full line lift solution provider.

The SJ 46AJ and 51AJ will be officially launched at ARA's The Rental Show 2009 in Atlanta, Ga. Production models will be available in the second quarter of 2009.

The boom lifts will feature an axle based 4WD system and direction sensing drive and steer controls. They are designed for superior positive traction and terrainability with a rugged, low maintenance drive train. The boom lifts feature a minimal number of hydraulic connections on drive train, and no hoses or hydraulic components under the chassis are left vulnerable to debris.

The rear axle hydraulic differential lock/unlock switch allows the operator to lock the rear differential to accommodate rough terrain. The unlocked position improves turning radius and reduces tire marks on hard surfaces and also minimizes digging on soft surfaces.

Additional key features include 360-degree continuous turret rotation, direction sensing drive and steer controls with continuous drive feature, true vertical rise with riser function (doesn't drift forward or backward), Skyjack's standard color-coded and numbered wiring system and an analog-based control system.
