Snorkel Workers in Kansas Vote to Decertify Union | Daily Construction News

According to the St. Joseph Post, workers at powered access manufacturer Snorkel's Elwood, Kan., facility have voted to remove their representation with their trade union, the International Association of Machinists (IAM). The union began representing the plant in mid-2008. Out of 90 eligible employees at the Snorkel plant, 72 voted to decertify.

“Our employees petitioned for a vote on decertification and voted overwhelmingly in favor of it," said David Smith, president of Snorkel North America. "This is such a rare occurrence because it only happens when employees completely trust their management team and recognize that the management team has their best interests at heart.”
