ZF Industries Introduces Next Generation WG 90/94 Transmission

ZF Industries, Inc., Passau, Germany, has developed a new generation WG 90/94 powershift transmission for off-road construction machinery weighing up to 8.5 tons with engine power ratings of up to 100 hp, which includes telehandlers and rough-terrain forklifts. The WG 90/94, manufactured in Gainesville, Ga., maintains the quick reversing and high road-speed characteristics of its predecessor and further improves quality, noise emissions, and serviceability. The mechanical concept of the WG 90/94, a powershift forward-reverse shuttle group with an integrated torque converter, also remains similar to the previous generation but employs a more compact design, a reduced number of internal parts, increased helical gear contact, and shorter shafts.

Other features offered by the new generation WG 90/94 include an optional front axle disconnect feature for specific applications; optimal price/performance ratio; reduced noise emissions; highly flexible design for easy application tuning; customer-oriented serviceability; one-source supply of complete driveline systems (transmissions, axles, and controls); and a compact and lightweight design that permits increased installation options.
