VANCOUVER, Wash. - Microcranes Inc. introduced its new hydraulic pick-and-carry portable crane, the ISO-certified M1 Global model.

The M1 Global design fits through 36-in. doorways, narrow aisles, and inside elevators, yet expands to boom up to a 22-ft. tip height.

Requiring no license for operation, it is rated at 2,000 lbs. (905 kg) and has a hook height of 20’3” (6.1 m). It is 30-in. (762 mm) wide and weighs 1,800 lbs. (816 kg) with 300 lbs. of removable counterweights.

First Potain Hup 32-27 Self-Erecting Crane Delivered in Iceland

BYGG has taken delivery of a Potain Hup 32-27, the first one delivered to its home country of Iceland.

The company has already placed the newest-generation, self-erecting crane on a job site in Reykjavik, where it is helping to build a residential development.

BYGG specializes in building residential real estate and chose the Hup 32-27 for its 4 t capacity and 32 m maximum radius. The Hup range has been especially beneficial for these types of construction projects due to its ease of transport, quick set up time and easy-to-use, remote-controlled operating system. 

Manitowoc to showcase the Shuttlelift SCD15 at The Rental Show 2018

Manitowoc Cranes will showcase the Shuttlelift SCD15 at the 2018 edition of ARA’s The Rental Show, which will take place in New Orleans from February 18 – 21. The crane manufacturer will occupy booth #3021 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Manitowoc debuted the 15 USt carrydeck crane at last year’s The Rental Show, and in 2018, the company aims to once again show customers how the SCD15 was designed with the rental market in mind.

Smith Erectors Takes 75RT ‘to the limit’

Smith Erectors, Inc. of Markle, IN recently spent four days working around the clock to service Steel Dynamic, Inc.’s (SDI) Columbia City, IN plant. SDI fabricates structural, rail, and engineered steel as part of their New Millennium Building Systems in a multi-building complex. Plant shut downs are required to maintain heavily used equipment in adverse conditions.

Link-Belt Cranes Vice President of Engineering Don Moore Set to Retire, Richard Shultz to Succeed

Effective December 31, 2017, Vice President of Engineering, Don Moore has announced his decision to retire from Link-Belt Cranes.

Moore began his career at Link-Belt in 1977, accepting a position as an associate design engineer in the Tower Gantry Crane Product Group at Link-Belt in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He then moved to the Lattice Boom Crawler Product Group, eventually being promoted to senior design engineer.
