Perkins Offers New Range of Engine Service and Support Solutions

Perkins offers a new range of service and support solutions to support engines operating across North America. To address customer’s needs in the USA, Canada and Mexico, it has launched Perkins Diesel Engine Oil (DEO), the only oil formulated specifically for the long operating life and performance of Perkins engines. This engine oil is recommended for use in Perkins U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final and below engines and is comprised of a mix of additives, designed specifically to prevent the build-up of conditions that can impair the oil performance, reduce operating life, and potentially damage engine components.

“We’ve developed Perkins Engine Oil to provide end users with unbeatable protection for their engine,” said Michael Wright, general manager – aftermarket. “Our oil is compatible with Tier 4 Final and below engines, and has been proven to deliver unrivalled engine performance. The oil comes in 20 and 208 litre quantities and is being made available through the Perkins network of distributors."

Made up of three base oils that deliver the right viscosity across the working temperature ranges, Perkins DEO includes a combination of 12 beneficial additives, such as:

• Viscosity stabilizers to ensure a long and stable operating life
• Dispersants and detergents to prevent the build-up of sludge and ash
• Anti-wear agents and friction modifiers to ensure good lubrication and prevent wear

Another solution is its remanufactured and replacement engines. As the cost of new machines continues to rise, more people are looking at major overhauls as an alternative to buying new.Perkins now offers a full-range replacement engine program, helping end users minimize downtime in the event of in-field failures with more flexible overhaul options and shorter lead times.

Perkins offers off-the-shelf, new complete replacement engines on select models that meet emissions standards and are a drop-in aftermarket overhaul solution. It also offers:

• New Long Engines and Reman Long Engines: Our long engines are built to a design specification that provides flexibility and value for customers requiring a re-power.
• New Short Engines and Reman Short Engines: Our short engines are an economical repair option with minimal downtime, delivering a dependable solution for major engine seizures.
• New Complete Head: If your cylinder head is damaged but the rest of the engine is in good condition, our complete heads are a quick and cost-effective solution.

Perkins also has re-launched its extended service contracts as Perkins Platinum Protection. To support our construction customers beyond the standard warranty period, Perkins Platinum Protection covers up to 10 years, 15,000 hours, and the repair and replacement of 100% of engine components. Customer benefits include comprehensive coverage of up to 100% of engine components, access to Perkins certified technicians, genuine parts rated and tested specifically for the engine, and coverage the same as the Perkins standard warranty.
