Product Review: Genie GS-3246 Scissor Lift

At the 2010 Lift and Access Equipment Showcase, Terex Aerial Work Platforms, Redmond, Wash., presented the GS-3246 scissor lift, which is the largest access platform in Genie's slab electric scissor lift family. Terex AWP began producing this model in 1998. The Genie scissor lift is ideal for scissor lift rental and scissor lift safety.

Because most of the operator's time is spent in the platform, the unit offers 39 square feet of workspace when the steel roll-out deck is extended. A foot pedal releases and allows the operator to push out the deck extension easily. This smooth deployment is largely due to the use of large 6-inch poly rollers. Retract the deck by simply pressing the foot pedal and rolling it back in. Terex equipment notes that because the extension is inside the deck, 3 inches of workspace is lost. However, if there is any damage to the railing, the extension deck is not affected by this. Look to the standards and regulations on scissor lift training.
