Gehl has unveiled the DL 12-55 telehandler, which shares many of the same features as the DL 12-40 but in a higher reaching package. Part of the Dynalift Series, this 12,000-lb. capacity telehandler has a 55’5” lift height. Capacity at the maximum lift height is 5,500 lbs., and capacity at the 40’9” maximum forward reach is 2,000 lbs. Maximum reach below grade is 2’10”

The new four-section boom has been reinforced to accommodate the handler’s lift capacity. The telescopic cylinder has been relocated from the side of the boom to the top to provide additional strength.

The side-mounted engine is a 115-hp Deere T4i, but it will be replaced with a 120-hp Cummins Tier 4 Final engine mid-year. The four-speed powershift transmission and axles are provided by Dana. Other components include four-wheel, hydraulically actuated internal wet-disc brakes, an SAHR parking brake on the front axle, and three streering modes.

Gehl reports it has the roomiest cab in its class to provide more comfort. The operator runs the machine via a dual tri-function control. For improved visibility, operators can see to the back of the machine through an open area at the base of the boom. During operation, the frame can be leveled +/-10 degrees. Travel locks out when the boom is at a 56 degree angle.

The machine is equipped with either standard foam-filled or optional solid rubber tires. Other standard equipment includes outriggers and auxiliary hydraulics.
