Hiab announced it is expanding its Spare Parts offering by introducing Red Parts and Exchange Parts products, complementing its Original Parts offerings.
The Swedish original equipment manufacturer (OEM) said its Red Parts line will offer a cost-effective alternative to its Original Parts line, and will be tailored for equipment in the latter part of its lifespan. Through the Exchange Parts programme, customers can also swap out components for replacement parts at a lower price.
"We aim to provide all customers with the right spare parts for their equipment, regardless of its age or condition,” Michael Bruninx, senior vice president of services at Hiab, said in a statement. ”To achieve this, we have added Red Parts and Exchange Parts to our offerings. These options are particularly beneficial for customers with older units that may have limited remaining lifespan and low usage levels. Our new spare parts portfolio aims to give customers peace of mind by ensuring safe operations and reliable performance."
The Red Parts line is initially only offered with engine components for truck mounted forklifts, but will be expanded to cover more equipment brands and component types during the year, Hiab said.
To improve circularity and avoid potential safety and quality issues caused by repairs of items like large cylinders, Hiab also said it launched the Exchange Parts program, allowing customers to swap out a used part for a compatible replacement for far less than Original Parts. The returned parts are recycled, remanufactured or properly disposed of by Hiab and all Spare Parts have a 12-month warranty, the company said.
“With these new introductions, we anticipate a growth in our parts market share. This enhanced offering complements our flagship Original Parts, which continue to deliver industry-leading performance and quality,” Bruninx added.
Hiab is a leading provider of premium equipment such as loader cranes, truck mounted forklifts, forestry cranes, recycling cranes, skiploaders and hooklifts, roll-off cable hoists and tail lifts.
