Skyjack to Unveil 86-Ft. Boom Lift at 2015 Rental Show

Skyjack is unveiling the SJ86 T telescopic boom at The Rental Show next month in New Orleans.

“The SJ86 T is the latest in a line of boom products Skyjack has brought to market in recent years,” said Malcolm Early, Skyjack’s vice president of marketing. “While it is far from the last boom lift we will introduce, it represents a milestone as a much-asked-for addition by our customers.”

The SJ86 T helps meet increasing customer demand in the rental industry with its higher capacity and greater reach. Two models will be available in North America: a telescopic-only model with a platform height of 82 ft and a model with a jib, featuring a platform height of 86 ft. Full details on the SJ86 T will be released at The Rental Show.

Full house

In addition to the new telescopic boom, Skyjack will be showcasing the SJ63 AJ articulating boom, which features an open-center knuckle riser design that provides Skyjack’s SkyRiser and EasyReach functionality.

From its vertical mast lift line, Skyjack will be showcasing the SJ12 and SJ16. Their lightweight design provides the lowest ground pressure and floor loadings available, a zero-degree inside turning radius, and a traversing platform for added reach.

Three DC electric scissor lifts, SJIII 3219, SJIII 3226 and SJIII 4632, will be displayed at the stand. The electric scissor lifts are quiet with zero emissions and able to work in the tightest of spaces, helping to make these the world’s top-selling aerial work platforms.

From the rough-terrain scissor lift line, Skyjack will showcase SJ6832 RTE and SJ9250 RT. The SJ6832 RTE electric rough-terrain scissor lift is the only machine in its category with 45% gradeability and four-wheel drive as standard. The RTE provides end users with a zero-emission scissor lift that comes with the low running costs and high uptime customers expect from Skyjack’s “simply reliable” AWP design philosophy. The SJ9250 RT, full-size rough terrain scissor lift, offers high work heights and heavy duty capacities.

Unique to Skyjack

Skyjack has started branding its key features.

Skycoded. Skyjack's control systems use Skyjack’s color-coded and numbered wiring that make its machines easy to troubleshoot and repair. For example, Black #14 is for the lift function on a SJIII 3219, and it is lift on a SJ63 AJ. Skyjack says that using a relay based control system allows its AWPs to operate using a simplified system with fewer and less-expensive components for less maintenance and lower costs.

Skyriser. A unique feature found on Skyjack’s articulating boom, it ensures that the riser and main pivot point connecting the boom to the riser travel in a straight vertical line. Movement in a true vertical manner, without drifting forward or back, reduces the amount of repositioning the operator needs to do in order to stay close to a building façade.

AxlDrive. By using locking rear and limited slip front differentials within their mechanical “axle based” drive systems, AxlDrive-equipped Skyjack units provide predictable, positive drive in the most challenging rough terrain environments. The increased efficiency provided by this drive system also allows for class leading performance traversing grades, with gradeability of up to 50%, says Skyjack.

Speedreach. Skyjack’s articulated boom lifts feature a boom geometry that allows the operator to lower the main fly boom to ground level to restock on material or supplies then return to full height at the original working position—without lowering the riser. This functionality adds to the versatility and productivity of Skyjack’s articulating boom lifts, especially as it can be quickly executed and there is no need for machine repositioning or having to remember the sequence of operations to get back to the original working position.

Easydrive. A unique boom feature only utilized by Skyjack, which means the boom lift controls are always in the orientation of the operator regardless of position of turret over chassis. Reduces operator confusion by eliminating the need for color coded arrows to determine drive versus joystick direction.

Accessoryzers. Having equipment with features and functionality that allow you and your customers to do more is a vital part of the utilization equation. Skyjack offers a range of accessory products to further expand a given products adaptability and your power to offer a truly flexible rental choice.
