Tadano America's GR-150-XL RT Crane to be Showcased at ConExpo | Construction News

Tadano America’s GR-150XL rough terrain crane will be on display at ConExpo in March. The 15-ton compact, multi-purpose RT features a 6-section, full power, synchronized telescoping boom that extends from 17.4 ft. to 78 ft. and an 11.8-ft. or 18-ft., two-staged off-settable jib. Both crane and drive operations can be performed from the cab, mounted on a rotating superstructure.

“The compact size of the GR-50XL makes a great machine for maneuvering, setting-up and working in confined spaces,” said Ron Dogotch, vice president and general manager of sales. “The compact size and long boom and jib capabilities makes it an ideal crane for use in the energy, refinery and petrochemical sectors where safety and environmental sensitivity are critical.”

Features and benefits of the GR-150XL for these applications include:

  • The GVW is half the weight of a standard cab-down crane.
  • A shorter and narrower footprint allows this crane access and set-up in more confined working spaces.
  • Superior boom length: 78 ft. with an 82-ft. tip height.
  • Optional 2-staged jib that achieves tip heights of approximately 105 ft.
  • Cab swings with the operator and load for improved visibility and safe operation.
  • Powered by the Mitsubishi 4M50-TLA3B direct injection diesel engine.
  • Hydraulic power steering controlled by steering wheel; Four steering modes: 2-wheel front; 2-wheel rear, 4-wheel coordinated,  and 4-wheel crab steering.
  • Tadano Load Moment Indicator System (AML-C) including control lever lockout function with audible and visual pre-warning; boom position and outrigger status indicator; ratio of actual load moment to rated load moment indication; automatic speed reduction and soft stop function on boom elevation and swing and an external warning lamp to name a few systems monitored.
  • High-tensile steel frame all welded mono-box construction.
