Bobcat Company has expanded its disaster preparedness and relief partnership with The Salvation Army through additional equipment donations aimed at supporting emergency response operations.
The company announced it has donated another $465,000 in equipment, increasing total donations to more than $1.35 million since 2024. The latest contribution includes portable generators and light towers that will be distributed to six Salvation Army locations in Alaska, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri and New York.
The effort follows Bobcat’s 2024 donation of 23 pieces of equipment, including forklifts, generators and light towers, used to support relief operations after Hurricanes Helene and Milton. According to the company, the equipment was deployed across the southeastern United States to assist emergency response efforts.
The Salvation Army said equipment such as generators, forklifts and lighting systems play an important role in maintaining operations during disaster recovery efforts, helping teams provide emergency supplies, meals and other services.
"The support from Bobcat enables our Emergency Disaster Services teams to respond quickly and effectively when communities face disasters,” said Commissioner Merle Heatwole, national commander of The Salvation Army. “With reliable equipment like generators, forklifts and light towers, we can provide critical services — meals, distribution of emergency supplies and emotional and spiritual care — without delay. We are deeply grateful for Bobcat’s ongoing partnership and commitment to helping us serve those in greatest need across the country.”
The release cited data from the National Centers for Environmental Information showing that the U.S. averaged 23 billion-dollar weather disasters annually between 2020 and 2024, compared with an average of three annually in the 1980s. As weather-related emergencies increase, organizations involved in disaster relief continue to rely on portable power and lighting equipment to sustain operations in affected areas.
“Our mission at Bobcat is to empower people to accomplish more, and that includes lifting up communities in their time of greatest need,” said Mike Ballweber, president of Doosan Bobcat North America, Inc. “By deepening our partnership with The Salvation Army, we’re helping their teams reach more individuals, deliver more services and make a greater impact when it matters most.”
